Spring Allergy Tonic

The refreshing breeze of spring lifts the spirits of seniors after having to stay indoors during the winter. At the same time, they are prone to illness in spring due to aging immune systems.

Also, there is a risk of infections due to seasonal allergies. Many of these allergies cause a runny nose, sneezing, coughing and a sore throat in the elderly. It is important to keep them healthy while they enjoy the spring weather.

This Spring Allergy Tonic/ Smoothie is easy to prepare and contains anti-inflammatory properties to alleviate the symptoms of allergies, especially in seniors.  Read the recipe here

Many risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, unhealthy diet and lifestyle, excessive alcohol consumption, physical inactivity, smoking, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol lead to cardiovascular disease and heart attacks.

Coronary heart disease is prevalent in every age group but seniors over 65 are more prone to cardiac arrest and/or stroke. Fortunately, there are many preventive ways to keep the senior heart healthy.

Spring provides the opportunity for new beginnings. It is the perfect time for the seniors to set out and be active by sticking to some heart-healthy routine. Read our Blog
