October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month. It is an official national observance where many non-profit organizations work together to bring awareness & help the public in preparing for life-threatening conditions.
It can be experienced by anyone including infants, children, teens, young adults, and people in their 30s and 40s. The only way to prevent it is by understanding the symptoms and taking the necessary action when needed.
Below are a few Sudden Cardiac Arrest symptoms.
Chest pain or discomfort
Heart palpitations
Rapid or irregular heartbeats
Unexplained wheezing
Shortness of breath
Fainting
Lightheadedness or Dizziness
Time is critical when someone experiences a sudden cardiac arrest. Call 911, perform CPR, or use a portable defibrillator to help an unconscious person who isn't breathing.

Employee of the Month
Congratulations to
Annmarie Shelton 🎉
We are pleased to announce that Annmarie Shelton has been selected to be the Assured Home Nursing Caregiver of the Month for September 2022.
Annmarie has been a professional caregiver for over 30 years. Amazingly, she has been a dedicated employee of Assured Home Nursing for 20 of those 30 years. She first began her career as a caregiver by taking care of her own Great-Grandmother and Grandmother. It was then that she realized caring for others was her passion and calling.
Annmarie always goes above and beyond for her clients. She treats them all as if they are her own family and creates strong interpersonal relationships with them. She listens to them and always empathizes with their needs.
Annmarie is also very passionate about God and the relationship she builds with others. She believes what you give into the world is what you get back. She follows the bible scripture that says to love others as God loves us and believes the more we practice showing pure kindness and love, the more it will come back to us full circle.
Outside of work, Annmarie enjoys spending time with her 3 Daughters and 5 Grandbabies (plus 1 on the way). Those babies keep her on her toes and make her feel young again. She also loves to travel, especially back to her homeland of Jamaica. She loves the serenity of Jamaica and every time she visits, she surrounds herself with family, close friends, and fantastic food.
Congratulations Annmarie, we are grateful to have you as a dedicated caregiver at Assured Home Nursing Services!
